Technology Development
The main research method is on-farm
participatory research i.e. farmer
led technology development, facilitated by KHDP, which identifies location specific and appropriate technology
solutions through farmer participation.

Steps
- "Getting started" - Gathering information about the
farming community and building rapport with farmers
- "Participatory problem identification" -
identification and prioritisation of problems
- "Looking for things to try" - seeking options,
review of options, selection of options by farmers
- "Experimentation"- design and layout in the
field, monitoring and recording of observations
- "Sharing of results"- Evaluation of results,
dissemination and adoption of results
